We love being a business that gives back—especially to a town as special as Eau Claire! Every month, we do what we can to support organizations that align with our core values and inspire us. We’ve enthusiastically supported hundreds of organizations through in-kind donations, sales proceeds, and in-person volunteer events. Additionally, our Flagship store donates 10% of its sales on the first Friday of every month, which has become a beloved tradition at Headquarters, now known as "First Friday." Below is a breakdown of where the sales from each First Friday were allocated and how we volunteered!
January: The Wellness Shack
Makers attended an event at The Wellness Shack, teaching participants how to make jewelry! The Wellness Shack is a consumer-run non-profit organization for adults in mental health recovery, and has been coined one of Eau Claire’s “hidden gems.” Read more about the Wellness Shack’s mission here!
February: American Heart Association
We donated our First Friday sales to a campaign within the AHA that focuses on children's heart health. As a volunteer event, we headed to the Red Cross to donate blood! Some volunteers were more enthusiastic than others about this one, but we managed all the same.
March: Seek Her Foundation
Our Femme Necklace has always been a “social goods” piece at Hello Adorn, meaning 100% of the necklace proceeds go toward an organization of our choosing. This year, we selected the Seek Her Foundation! The Seek Her Foundation’s researchers and mental health advocates focus on women’s positive body image, self-care, diversity, inclusivity, and motherhood. Other “social goods” pieces like the Femme Necklace include the Lady Like Necklace (a seasonal piece), Dolly Necklace, and Entwined Necklace. You can read more about their stories here!
April: Beaver Creek Nature Reserve + Good Soul 5k
The Beaver Creek Nature Reserve offers 400 acres of diverse habitats to explore, and a mission to connect people to nature. With multiple programs, educational centers, and a butterfly house, there’s plenty to do! Sales from our Patchwork Bracelet drop were donated toward their Earth Day efforts to build a bigger and newer turtle enclosure. As one of the only nature reserves within the surrounding area of Eau Claire, Beaver Creek is truly an integral part of our community.
Hello Adorn staff also participates in The Good Soul 5k every April! Proceeds from the race provide free workouts to our community year-round through Jeff Rodgers Fitness, who strives to reduce barriers to fitness education.
May: Big Brothers Big Sisters
Big Brothers Big Sisters is an organization we’ve repeatedly supported because we believe in their mission and the invaluable support they provide to youth in our community. We annually participate in their fundraising event, Bowl For Kids' Sake, and take the costume contest seriously. The funds from Bowl For Kids' Sake help Big Brothers Big Sisters continue to provide mentorship programs that empower youth to reach their full potential and build stronger communities.
June: Pinehurst Park
Pinehurst Park has been a local staple for years in the Chippewa Valley and is currently under construction, thanks to the efforts of OutdoorMore, Inc. This organization has been working tirelessly to rebuild and reinvent the former ski hill to provide access to outdoor activities year-round. We sent a team over to Pinehurst in June to help with park clean-up and had the best time getting our hands dirty!
July: Might Maddy’s Mission
Mighty Maddy's Mission is an organization we were so happy to learn about and donate to. Their mission is to provide birthday boxes full of party supplies and gifts for a child, or sibling of a child, with cancer while they are an inpatient. They also provide an end-of-treatment party box with supplies.
August: ECASD Adopt-a-Backpack
Eau Claire Area School District’s Adopt-a-Backpack program is something we’ve helped with for years! A team heads to a store to pick up backpacks and school supplies, providing local kids with what they need for the school year.
September: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
In addition to our First Friday donation, we had a team participate in The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s annual Out Of The Darkness Walk. This walk takes place in cities nationwide to support those affected by suicide and strongly sends the message that suicide is preventable and that no one is alone.
October: Community Table
Eau Claire’s Community Table serves one meal a day, 365 days a year, to anyone who wants to join, no questions asked. We had a blast donating our time to The Community Table, cooking, serving, and eating with others—it was a worthwhile way to spend our time. When we volunteered, about 150 people came through the door to share a meal. If you’re looking for a place to volunteer, they are ALWAYS looking for help!
November + December: The Giving Tree
The Giving Tree is back at Hello Adorn Flagship this holiday season! We’ve chosen to sponsor five families from Manz Elementary this year. 💛 Thank you to everyone who helped us make these families Christmas wishes come true.
As a company, we are incredibly grateful to have had the privilege of donating toward causes that matter deeply to us. Every year, we are inspired by the organizations we partner with, and the impact we can make in our community. Giving back is at the heart of what we do, and we are honored to play a small role in making the world a little brighter. We look forward to continuing our efforts to support these meaningful causes in the years to come!
